Robotics

The school has a number of robots that are used for research and teaching. These range from small microcontroller driven robots to big mobile platforms that utilise a laptop PC and a variety of sensors.

Music Research

Our musical fingerprint visualisation software creates visualisations of musical tastes. By rating songs, we can produce a unique image that describes the features of music that people like and dislike.

The Voynich Manuscript

One of our Senior Lecturers, Gordon Rugg, cracked the 400-year-old mystery of the Voynich manuscript. He is now tackling everything from Alzheimer's to the origins of the universe.

Student Satisfaction

According to the National Student Survey 2008 computing students at Keele are among the most satisfied in the country. With a score of 97% for overall student satisfaction with the quality of the courses.
